Dear Parents and Students -
Coats, hats, and gloves!! It is going to be cold for a long time now, and on Wednesday there were many pink ears, hands, and noses as the temperatures dropped and the winds picked up. Please send the children to school prepared for outdoor recess. We go out when the temperatures and/or wind chills are above zero degrees. Layer accordingly.
Thank You VETERANS! We appreciate all of our Veterans and those currently serving in our U.S. Armed Forces. A special ‘Thanks’ to Mr. Carl Ploense, grandfather of two of our students and veteran of the Iraq war, for visiting several of our classrooms today! We will continue to pray for our Servicemen and Servicewomen weekly - for protection from evil and harm and for reunification of family members who may be on deployment!
TURKEY BINGO IS THIS SUNDAY EVENING! BRING THE FAMILY!
Caroline Grote update! - Mom & Dad shared that Caroline had one kidney successfully removed as the initial step for a cure, but there is a greater battle to be fought and won as the diagnosis is stage 3 cancer with a spread to Caroline’s lymph nodes. A dual treatment of radiation and chemo will begin at Riley’s Children Hospital in Indy next week. Please keep Caroline and her parents in your prayers. Follow Caroline’s journey at the following link and access opportunities to help further CAROLINE!
Our Student Council announces that we have surpassed our goal of $700 collected to help with the Franciscan Center’s annual “Turkey Tuesday!” Each year before Thanksgiving, the Franciscan Center provides a frozen turkey for their clients and their families for Thanksgiving. The Franciscan Center relies on donations from the community to make this annual event a reality. Once again this year, our Student Council asked students to make a monetary donation which will be presented to the Franciscan Center for the purchase of turkeys. Students and Staff have been collecting for the past two weeks and we are happy to announce that as a school community we have surpassed our goal of $700. We currently have $750 in hand and Fr. Tom has awarded all Students and Staff an out-of-uniform day on Tuesday, November 22nd. BUT WAIT! THERE’S MORE! We are extending the collection through Tuesday & Fr. Tom has agreed if we surpass $900 total by the end of the day Tuesday, he will award an additional Out of Uniform Day on Monday, Nov. 28th! Let’s do it!
