Dear Parents and Students - I hope you are well. On behalf of our Pastor, Fr. Tom, Frs. James and Daniel, Sr. Genevieve, Mr. Hoersten, and all of our Faculty and Staff, we would like to wish you and your families a very blessed Thanksgiving! It seems, at times, that much of the news in the world is dark - filled with economic struggles and bickering. Add in our own family struggles and it becomes easy to become discouraged or fall into a negative mindset. However, when we take a moment to shake off the negative feelings and take stock of the good around us, we realize that we have so, so many blessings that the Lord has given to us. We are very thankful to have all of you as part of our St. Charles School Community! May the peace of Christ be with you and your families and may your hearts be filled with peace and Thanksgiving at this time of year! Sincerely - Rob S.
In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus! Thess.5:18
A few reminders:
Coats, hats, and gloves!! If your child is in need of a new winter coat please contact Mrs. Bojrab or Mrs. Linn in the school office. Kind donors are provided new youth coats and hats for those who may have need. Please check the weather daily and send the children to school prepared for recess as we play out when the temps and/or wind chills are above zero degrees.
Thank you for your generosity in helping with the Franciscan Center Turkey drive! We raised over $1,000 AND an anonymous donor kindly called and sent in another $1,000 as a match for our drive. Fantastic work! This means that students will have a dress down day on Tuesday, November 22nd and another when we return on Monday, Nov. 28th!
Grandparents/Special Persons Day! - St. Charles’ annual Special Person’s Day is Monday, November 21. Students in 1st & 2nd grades have invited grandparents or other persons special in their lives to visit at school from 8:15 to approximately 10:30 that morning. Special guests are asked to park in the large church parking lot and enter the school through door #3 (gym entrance) or door #9 (cafeteria entrance) and meet the children in the classroom by 8:00 am. The children will be walking from the classroom to church to attend the 8:15 am Mass with their guests. Following Mass, the special guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a specially prepared program and to spend some time with their student. The students are looking forward to this special day to share with guests!
School Closings and Delays - St. Charles announces our own school weather delays and closings. St. Charles will post delay and closing announcements on the local ABC, NBC, and CBS television stations. We will also use SchoolMessenger to push out text and/or email messages to each family. Additionally, our school website will have an alert message posted with the latest delays or closings.
Text Alerts- School Messenger - Do we have your current cell phone number? Have you been receiving texts?
Are you receiving the St. Charles messages? In order to receive text alerts from St. Charles about weather delays/cancellations and other important announcements, your cell phone number needs to be in our system. Then, you can text “yes” to 67587. You will receive a confirmation text and will be added to the text list. The process could take a few days. Text messages are sent for delays and cancellations, school emergencies and other important school messages. If you have not been receiving texts, but would like to receive them, please call the school and share your name and cell number, or email the information to us & we will add your number.
