Dear Parents and Students - I hope this newsletter finds you well! We are very grateful that Fr. Tom and all those with him who were visiting the Holy Land were able to return home safely. There is great evil in this world and Hamas is definitely evil. There is much dispute and grievance in the area and historical occupations dating back over 5,000+ years, but this latest attack by Hamas is barbaric in its focus on innocents. We pray that the hostages will be released and that there will be some path to ending the conflict.
In closing, if you are having any financial difficulty related to school, please reach out to us in the school office and we will work with you to help. Additionally, our school Counselor Mrs. Robinson, can assist with connecting families to local resources to assist families in greater need of help - food, clothing, shelter, mental health. The first step is reaching out and letting your needs be known and then we can work together to assist.  Thank you for choosing St. Charles Borromeo School for your children! Sincerely - Rob S.

Parent-Teacher Conferences Oct. 25-26. In-person Parent-Teacher conferences will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2:00 p.m.- 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, October 26, from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Conferences will be held in 15-minute intervals:  10 minutes for parents and students to meet with the teacher and a 5-minute passing time between conferences.
Parents of PreK-6 students have had the opportunity to schedule times in which to visit with their child’s homeroom teacher using SignUp Genius. Parents of 7th and 8th students have been able to sign up to meet with any of the 7th and 8th grade teachers.  In this way, a parent may choose to conference with a junior high teacher(s) who teaches a specific subject area to better target academic or behavior concerns pertaining to a particular teacher/subject area.
We always ask that parents understand that conferences should be viewed as a positive, collaborative experience - a time when concerns, helpful strategies, and encouragement can be exchanged; however, due to the large number of parents with whom teachers will meet, conference time is limited. If there is a topic that parents feel will need more time than ten minutes or so, please contact the teacher before or after these conference days, so that all will have appropriate time for lengthier discussion.
Using SignUp Genius these past two weeks, parents were invited to schedule their conferences as close in time to each other as needed.  Parents/Guardians received a text/email alert through SchoolMessenger the morning of their signup day.
It is hoped that all families have scheduled by this time. Please use this link it you still need to sign up: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30E084AACA92DABF58-parent35#/ This will link will shut off at 3pm on Monday, October 16. Parents should contact their child’s teacher if they know these times will not work. If assistance is needed to schedule your appointment online using SignUp Genius, please contact the school office.
